The newsletters were still being published in A4 size at this point. 8 pages worth, I guess there was a lot happening at that
time.
The departure of Pete Arneson is announced in this issue. The timing seems a bit of a surprise as 'Juke Box Jive' was
riding high in the UK charts, however it seems he just wasn't into it.
John has since told me that, the week before Christmas, 'Juke Box Jive' was the best selling record in the UK, yet when
the chart was published they had dropped to # 8.
Polydor Records complained to the chart compilers and the following week the Rubettes jumped back to # 3 with much lower
sales...
The complete issue has now been posted. Page 8 was the hardest to restore. The final paragraph was just too feint, so I decided
just to type it out.
